The Big Push

So it's time for the Big Push, to get the demo out the door. I was really hoping to have said demo done by last night, but there was just too many little bugs that hinted at bigger bugs yet to come. I worked all day yesterday, trying to button and patch and clean and scrub; it's really close but no cigar. Apparently the windows build is not happy, and I can't test the OSX build because my power adapter on my laptop took a dive. Linux is A-OK though, and looking good.

Hopefully, tonight will be the night. We're trying to expand the map, add systems stations and planets, so that we can show off all the art assets we have as part of the demo. Unfortunately, auto-discovery of the systems doesn't work yet, so it takes some tweaking in the pilot file to actually see the effect of what you're doing. But we've come a long way, folks. This demo is not just some prototype, little more than a playable video. Everything you see is built on the full mechanics of the game- this is more an Alpha than a traditional demo. A little more polish and we're in business!
